Ask A Stripper

Dear Kate Hate,

I’ve been at the same club now for a little over two years and I’m about to start at a new club on Friday. I must admit that I’m a little nervous about the change of atmosphere, the new girls I’ll be working with, the management, and, of course, the customers. Have you ever been in this type of position? If so, do you have any advice to ease my anxiety? Thanks!

Dear NNC,

Yes! Over the summer I would travel to Atlantic City on the weekends, as there’s more money there during the warmer months. At first I kept to myself, but was still cordial and friendly with the girls. Don’t involve yourself in any drama, don’t talk about how much you make, and don’t gossip about other dancers and you should be fine. I apply these rules to my home club as well and it seems to get me through rather unscathed (there’s always something to cat fight about in a competitive industry). Although you can’t please everyone, remember you’re there for you…to make money, first and foremost.

Sincerely,

Kate Hate
